Leeds United are now a step closer to completing the transfer deal for James Trafford. On Thursday, Beren Cross confirmed that the England international has completed his medical.
The 23-year old arrived in the country following his World Cup break, as he shared a post on his Instagram.
Trafford was getting up to speed in an Athletics Stadium in Carlisle. And as of Thursday, he has completed his medical and will arrive at Elland Road for a record fee.
Leeds will no doubt be happy to have gotten this deal across the line.
The club have been after a long term solution to their goalkeeping problems. Over the last few seasons they have tried to find a new number one after Illan Meslier fell out of favour.
They even signed Lucas Perri last summer, who did not turn out to be a great signing.
Fans will hope James Trafford is the answer they are looking for to be the club’s next great number one.
Leeds United set to complete another transfer after James Trafford deal
With the move for the England keeper all but complete, another transfer can go through at Elland Road.
Lucas Perri has been waiting to leave the club over the last few weeks. Italian side Torino have been in contact with the keeper, and have even agreed personal terms over a move.
They have also been in talks with Leeds United, proposing a loan deal with an option to buy.
The transfer was only going to be sanctioned after the arrival of James Trafford, which is now just hours away from completion. Perri can now pack up his backs and leave to complete his transfer.
Reports from Italy revealed that Torino have had to be very patient over the deal, with how long the Trafford move has drawn out.
