BRUNO GUIMARÃES REPORTEDLY SPENT THE NIGHT AT FORMER NEWCASTLE TEAMMATE’S HOUSE AFTER SUNDERLAND HEROICS — THEIR BOND EXPLAINED

Bruno Guimaraes scored a stunning first goal for Arsenal at the Stadium of Light last weekend.

Bruno Guimaraes reportedly spent the night at Joelinton’s house following his winner against Sunderland.

Toon fans have been divided on the Brazilian since his £75million move to Arsenal in August. However, Guimaraes regained a lot of love on Tyneside with a stunning strike at the Stadium of Light last weekend.

The former Newcastle captain made a “small club” gesture to the home crowd in celebration before taking the battle to social media. Sunderland fans had heckled Guimaraes throughout Arsenal’s victory due to his black-and-white connections.

Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton sleepover

According to the Daily Mail, Guimaraes visited Joelinton after scoring against Sunderland. The duo were inseparable during their time together at Newcastle, with Brazilian flags proudly emblazoned around St James’ Park.

While Guimaraes celebrated getting off the mark for his new club, the start of the campaign has been frustrating for Joelinton. He remains sidelined with a quad injury and is not expected to return this weekend.

There is hope that the 30-year-old could return after the upcoming international break. Newcastle lacked physicality in the engine room at Elland Road on Monday – Joelinton’s best attribute.

‘I had an amazing history’ – Bruno Guimaraes

Guimaraes referenced his “amazing history” at Newcastle after scoring last Saturday. He said: “It’s unbelievable, I feel very good. Everyone knows I had a difficult start with injuries in a short time but I’m glad to be back, glad to play.

“I scored a beautiful goal, it’s a beautiful moment for me and my family and I’m very happy. A beautiful goal in a very good place. Everyone knows my past, I had an amazing history at Newcastle. But now I’m trying to create a new history here and I’ve started in the right way.”
