Holders given tough draw as League Two teams discover fate
Rangers could face a re-run of their disastrous Scottish Cup fifth round defeat by Queen’s Park from last season after they were paired with either Stranraer or the Spiders in this year’s edition.
The Ibrox side, then under manager Philippe Clement, lost 1-0 to Queen’s Park last February in one of the most embarrassing results in the club’s history. And they could meet at the same stage once again should the Championship side win at Stair Park on Tuesday night after the weekend date was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Old Firm rivals Celtic have a home draw against fellow Premiership opposition after they were paired with Dundee. The draw was made at Rugby Park after the 2-0 win over Auchinleck Talbot to conclude the fourth round card.

There will also be an all-Premiership tie at Pittodrie when holders Aberdeen host Motherwell in what many will view as the tie of the last 16.
Elsewhere, Dunfermline Athletic have been rewarded for knocking out Hibs over the weekend with a home draw against Fife rivals Kelty Hearts, while Falkirk – who scalped Hearts – also have a local clash to look forward to after being paired with League One leaders Stenhousemuir.
Premier Sports Cup winners St Mirren are on the road and will take on Championship side Airdrieonians at Excelsior Stadium.
A pair of League Two outfits remain in the draw. Spartans will head to Dundee United, while Elgin City are at home to Partick Thistle.
The ties are due to be played over the weekend of February 7 and television selections plus confirmed dates/kick-off times will be announced in due course.
