Newcastle United’s Dan Burn, Bruno Guimaraes and Nick Woltemade will be in action for their countries at the World Cup
With the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada firmly dominating the football agenda at present, it is easy to lose sight of the fact Newcastle United return to pre-season training in three weeks’ time.
In what has been widely billed as one of the most important summers of Eddie Howe’s tenure at Newcastle, it is imperative United start next season on the front foot after a disappointing 12th placed finish last term.
The pressure will be on Howe to hit the ground running and a strong pre-season will certainly help their cause. While the finishing touches are being put to the fixture schedule, the Magpies will know they have a good core of players returning on the first day of pre-season on Monday, July 13.
Newcastle only have six players at the World Cup, with Dan Burn, Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Elanga, Yoane Wissa, Nick Woltemade and Malick Thiaw currently representing their nations in North America.
