Alan Shearer Slams Newcastle Star! Told to ‘NEVER PLAY AGAIN” After Horror Show Vs Coventry

COVENTRY (4-2-3-1):
Rushworth 6; van Ewijk 7, Pinnock 7, THOMAS 8, Dasilva 7; Yirenkyi 7 (Onyeka 78), Grimes 6 (Mfuni 83); Thomas-Asante 7, Rudoni 8 (Torp 83), Mason-Clarke 6 (Sakamoto 61, 6); Cherif 8 (Simms 78).
Subs (not used): Bentley (gk), Latibeaudiere, Gboho, Hamer.
NEWCASTLE (4-2-3-1):
4 Hornicek: Got himself into a right mess as he conceded the penalty and didn’t help his defence out with Coventry’s long throws
6 MILEY: Slotted in at right-back again and was one of Newcastle’s better performers before he went off in the second half
4 Thiaw: Looked vulnerable for most of the night, with his weak header leading to Coventry’s second goal
4 Botman: Scored an absolute cracker, but had another really poor night defensively, looking vulnerable on a number of occasions
5 Hall: Wasn’t at his dynamic best, with most of his best running work coming in extremely deep-lying positions
4 Gonzalez: Saw plenty of the ball, but was sloppy with his passing on a number of occasions and couldn’t keep track of Coventry’s runners
4 Willock: Wasted a number of decent positions, most notably when blazing over from inside the box just before he was taken off
3 Murphy: Another disappointing display from the winger, who has struggled for most of the season – it’s surely time for him to be dropped for Saturday’s game with Villa
4 Wissa: A disappointing display – couldn’t really make an impact in the final third despite seeing a fair bit of the ball
5 Barnes: Showed a bit more energy and fight than some of his team-mates, even if nothing really came off for him
4 Fernandez-Pardo: His effort couldn’t be faulted, but he wasted some great positions in the first half – needs to be taken out of the number nine slot
Subs:
5 Dedic (for Miley, 59): Wasn’t really able to shore things up after coming onto the field
4 Joelinton (for Willock, 59): Handed Coventry their third goal as he conceded possession trying to dribble out of defence
6 Toure (for Murphy, 59): Produced a few bright moments, but appeared to get injured in stoppage time
Osula (for Wissa, 78)
Burn (for Toure, 90+1)
(not used): Pope (gk), Schar, Bamba, Steur.
Man Of The Match: BOBBY THOMAS – Showed the kind of defensive resolv
e and commitment that Newcastle were badly lacking.
