Leeds United are still rushing to force through some more transfer deals for the new Premier League campaign. At the end of last season, Daniel Farke made it clear he needs transfer support if he is to push Leeds up the table.

Survival was secured last year, but now the German wants to achieve greater things at Elland Road. Tarik Muharemovic’s arrival from Sassuolo was soon followed by the arrival of £40m record transfer James Trafford from Manchester City.

Many fans may also be excited by the astute signing of Harry Wilson, who arrived from Fulham as a free agent after enjoying an impressive campaign last season. Despite the aforementioned arrivals, more signings may be on the horizon.

Leeds are on the verge of signing Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi. With Sebastiaan Bornauw expected to join Hamburg, the club has been looking to issue in a replacement before allowing him to leave.

It now appears Elvedi will become the latest central defender to arrive at Elland Road, with the club confident they can wrap up a deal for the Switzerland international.

Speaking earlier this week, Farke said of Bornauwd: “Out of respect to him and what he has done so far – because he’s always a top professional – we are also of course considering what he wants.”

Leeds Live says: It’s understood Elvedi is close to becoming a Leeds player. He appears to be viewed almost as a like-for-like replacement for the outgoing Bornauw. Leeds sources state it is likely that a deal will be struck for him.Lucas Perri transfer twist

Lucas Perri seemed destined to become a Torino player this summer. However, reports from the journalist Matteo Moretto claim a transfer is yet to be wrapped up.

It’s also been claimed French side Marseille are now considering hijacking a move for the ex-Leeds No. 1 goalkeeper, with the club having ‘ramped up contacts in recent hours’. Perri is also understood to be in no rush about his next move and is willing to bide his time to assess his options.

Leeds Live says: Leeds agreed a deal with Torino to sell Perri to them, with a medical also scheduled. Torino are still understood to be confident about completing a move.

Igor Paixao latest

Leeds brought up Igor Paixao during discussions about Marseille’s sudden interest in Perri. According to TEAMtalk, Paixao was mentioned after Marseille explained their desire to sign Perri.

It’s also understood the Brazilian forward is not aching to leave Marseille, but with the French side looking to raise funds, he may be one player who could be sacrificed. Aston Villa have also been linked with the forward, who was heavily linked with a move to Elland Road last season.

Leeds Live says: Paixao has been admired by Leeds, but there is no advanced interest in signing him. A move cannot be categorically ruled out, with Marseille’s financial troubles offering a potential route to Paixao.
