Former Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has expressed his willingness to come out of retirement to replace the injured Marc-André ter Stegen. Ter Stegen sustained a serious knee injury during Barcelona’s 5-1 victory over Villarreal, and although an official recovery timeline hasn’t been announced, reports suggest he could be out for around eight months.
Following Ter Stegen’s injury, rumors surfaced that Barcelona may look for a replacement, despite the transfer window being closed until January. However, they can still sign free agents. Bravo, a 150-cap Chilean international who retired this summer after four seasons with Real Betis, has confirmed he’s ready to return if needed.
“If Barcelona calls me, I will be ready,” Bravo told winwin.

Claudio Bravo spent two years at Barcelona between 2014 and 2016, making 75 appearances across all competitions and keeping 43 clean sheets. During his time at Camp Nou, Bravo won La Liga in both of his seasons and played a part in the club’s Champions League victory in 2014/15, a season where he was also named in La Liga’s best XI.
On the international stage, Bravo enjoyed a 20-year career with Chile, highlighted by back-to-back Copa América victories in 2015 and 2016. After leaving Barcelona, he joined Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
