England’s defence came under heavy scrutiny after Spain scored their third goal at Wembley, leaving the score 3-2, with Jarell Quansah, Ezri Konsa and Marc Guehi singled out for criticism online.
Spain punished England with a move that exposed gaps at the back, leaving supporters questioning the defensive setup as La Roja regained the initiative in the Nations League clash.
After the goal, the Arsenal star and Quansah were spotted arguing with each other.
One frustrated reaction read: “The defending by Quansah, Konsa & Guehi for that 3rd Spanish goal is comically bad.”
Another supporter questioned Quansah’s role at right-back, writing: “I’ll need a reminder on how Quansah is playing right back for England. Nothing against the lad. He’s a centre back.”
The criticism comes with Trent Alexander-Arnold back in Tuchel’s squad after missing England’s World Cup campaign. Quansah was selected as part of the 27-man squad for the Nations League window.
