Brighton 3-0 Arsenal: Piers Morgan Reacts to ‘Are You Tottenham in Disguise?’ Chant
Brighton pulled off a surprise 3-0 win against Arsenal at the Amex Stadium, taking the Seagulls to third in the table and just two points behind the Gunners.
Pascal Gross gave Fabian Hurzeler’s side the lead just after 30 minutes, striking into the bottom right corner from the edge of the box, before Charalampos Kostoulas fired into the bottom corner from 25 yards after being given all the time in the world to shoot.
The second half got even worse for the Gunners, who conceded a third when new signing Chema Andres headed home from a corner delivered by Pascal Gross.
The result sees Arsenal lose their first game of the season and fall from the top spot in the league heading into the international break.
Brighton fans were quick to make the most of their big win, taunting Arsenal players and fans in the Amex Stadium, catching the attention of some celebrity Arsenal fans.
However, they were heading into the game against Arsenal as underdogs, no surprise considering Arsenal are reigning champions and hadn’t lost a game yet this season. However, Mikel Arteta’s side were a shadow of their usual selves, conceding three goals.
Brighton fans inside the stadium were quick to mock Arsenal’s performance, being heard chanting: “Are you Tottenham in disguise?” as well as “You’re having a laugh, you’re having a laugh, Champions of England, you’re having a laugh!”
Arsenal will be hoping that today’s performance was just a one-off, as they won’t want to make performances like this a habit as they look to defend their title status, with Manchester City currently top of the league with a game in hand.

Celebrity and Arsenal fan, Piers Morgan, was quick to give his judgment on the chants from Brighton, comparing the Gunners’ display to one of their rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.
Morgan tweeted via X: “The ultimate, and very accurate on today’s performance, insult.”
Arsenal’s north London rivals, Spurs, have struggled once again this Premier League season, as they are winless in their opening five games and have only scored two goals, both of which came in the same match against Aston Villa.
Following the game, Arteta said: “I’m very disappointed. However, first of all, congrats to Brighton. They deserved to win the game, and it’s a lesson for us.”
“In the first 20 or 30 minutes, the number of technical errors put us constantly under pressure. It’s a big lesson to learn. What the team has done since the World Cup has been remarkable. But today there is a lot to learn.”
