Arsenal are reportedly in a fierce battle to sign Everton star Iliman Ndiaye, as per TEAMtalk.

The Gunners currently have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard as options to deploy on the left flank. Moreover, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze can provide cover in this position if needed. However, Madueke is a right-winger by trait, while Eze is more comfortable in the creative midfield position.

Martinelli has been displaying below-average performances in recent years, scoring a solitary goal in 30 Premier League appearances this season. On the other hand, Trossard performed this term inconsistently, scoring only eight goals in 50 appearances across all competitions.

Both Martinelli and Trossard’s existing deals are set to expire at the end of next season. So, it has been suggested that the North London club are looking to upgrade the LW.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal are interested in Ndiaye and have been monitoring his situation closely. They have even been informed about the forward’s current situation.

Although the 26-year-old’s existing deal is set to run until 2029, Everton are prepared to hand him a fresh term to ward off potential suitors. However, negotiations haven’t progressed at all between the two parties.

Apart from the Gunners, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are also keen on him. But, the Toffees have no intention of letting him leave this summer.

Ndiaye to Arsenal

Ndiaye is a technically gifted left-winger by trait but is also comfortable on the opposite side. He is quick, strong, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and also works hard without possession.

Although the African, valued at around £47m by Transfermarkt, isn’t a prolific forward, his all-round game is impressive, and he possesses the necessary attributes to flourish at the highest level.

So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services this summer.

Meanwhile, apart from purchasing a new left-winger, Arsenal also want a new striker, as Gabriel Jesus is likely to leave, having struggled to find regular game time in recent years.
