The Chicago Sky have appointed Tyler Marsh, an assistant coach for the Las Vegas Aces, as their new head coach, succeeding Teresa Weatherspoon. This announcement, made on Saturday, received praise from many in the WNBA who view Marsh as one of the league’s rising stars and a key figure in player development for the Aces. Star player Angel Reese supported Marsh by posting a simple “W.” on X shortly after the news broke.

However, while Reese celebrated, two Aces players expressed their displeasure at her comments, feeling it was disrespectful given the recent departure of two coaches from their staff, including Natalie Nakase, who was named head coach of the new Golden State Valkyries in October. Aces guard Sydney Colson responded with “Excuse me?! We’re grieving, have some respect!”
