The Green Bay Packers enter the 2025 offseason at a pivotal point in their relationship with veteran cornerback Jaire Alexander. The two-time All-Pro is expected to be a leader on a Packers team that has one of the league’s youngest rosters.
However, Alexander hasn’t been on the field much for the last two seasons. The 28-year-old has appeared and started in 14 total games since 2023 due to injuries. He underwent arthroscopic surgery before the offseason, and his future with Green Bay is unclear at the NFL Scouting Combine this week.

The Green Bay Packers are frustrated
Per The Athletic‘s Matt Schneidman, Packers general manager Bruan Gutekunst has talked with Alexander’s agent, John Thorton, several times as Green Bay decides whether to bring the two-time Pro Bowler back in 2025.
During his press conference at the combine on Tuesday, Gutekunst admitted the Packers are “frustrated” with the situation.
“We’re working through that,” Gutekunst said of Alexander’s status with the Packers for 2025. “He certainly could be, but I think we’ll work through that as we go. We’ve got to get him out there now.
“I think obviously, we’ve talked about (how) there’s been a lot of frustration on his part. He wants to be out there badly and not being able to be out there at his best has frustrated him and that has frustrated our football team, too, because we’re better with him. But we’ll see.”
