Aston Villa player ratings vs Bournemouth: Villa star nowhere to be seen, 7/10 deserved more

Aston Villa were knocked out of the Carabao Cup fourth round after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Wednesday.
The Villans were handed their first lost in eight games at the Vitality Stadium, with full focus now turning to the Premier League and Champions League.
Amine Adli fired into the roof of the net to give the hosts the lead early on, while Emi Buendia tried, but was unable to drag his side back on level terms before the break.
Things didn’t get much better for Unai Emery’s side in the second 45, as Marco Bizot was caught out at his near post after Lewis Cook’s in-swinging cross found it’s way into the back of the net.
Joao Gomes had Villa’s only shot on target in the second 45, while the Cherries came close to extended their lead to three through Alvaro Rodriguez.
Some Aston Villa players can hold their heads high after the game, but the majority of them need to look themselves in the mirror.
Lamare Bogarde nowhere to be seen vs Bournemouth
Lamare Bogarde showed exactly why he shouldn’t be playing for Villa in the loss to Bournemouth.
The 22-year-old was shoved in at right-back by Emery, and made just one defensive contribution.
The former Netherlands U21s international had a 0 per cent long ball accuracy, failing to complete two of his three attempted dribbles.
Bogarde then committed a clear error that led to a goal as his dangerous pass at the back was intercepted for Bournemouth to run through and score their third goal.
His performance was summed up by a poor 5.1 FotMob rating; a complete ghost for Villa.
Emi Buendia deserved more for Aston Villa
Buendia was Villa’s only real outlet on the south coast, and was constantly looking to make something happen.
The Argentine had the most shots in the match (4) and created three chances for his teammates.
The 29-year-old had an 88 per cent passing accuracy, only misplacing three of his 24 attempted passes.
The attacking midfielder completed 100 per cent of his dribbles, completing three out of three long balls, too.
Emery took Buendia off in the 70th minute, most likely with the game at Villa Park against Fulham on Saturday on his mind.
One thing is for sue and it’s that Buendia should not have been on the losing team.
