France under-21s boss Gerald Baticle has provided an update on Jean-Matteo Bahoya after the Leeds United forward suffered an injury blow in Saturday evening’s victory against Luxembourg’s under-21s.
Bahoya was selected to start as France’s under-21s took on Luxembourg’s under-21s in a Euros under-21s qualifier on Saturday evening but the young Leeds attacker was taken off after just 35 minutes.
As per Sky Sports journalist Zinny Boswell, Bahoya initially tried to play on before he was replaced by Mathys Tel after who then scored the winner as France secured qualification for the Under-21s Euros with a 3-2 victory.
Speaking after the game and as per French publication L’Equipe, France unde-21s boss Baticle said he could not say the exact nature of the injury to Bahoya but confirmed that the Leeds forward had hurt his ankle and would now have further tests.
