Brighton currently occupy third spot, with Brentford, Leeds United and Liverpool making up the top six.

Manchester United are down in 12th place, with the pressure ramping up on Michael Carrick after sealing just one win and five points from the opening five fixtures.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are rock bottom, despite spending a fortune this summer, with a pitiful two points on the board.

New Liverpool signing Víctor Munoz kicks things off in 15th place after hitting a top speed of 21.62 mph this season. The Spain international is a livewire who looks a real handful.

No surprise to see Anthony Elanga on this list. The Sweden International, who won August’s Goal of the Month award for his strike against Tottenham, is blessed with searing pace.

Arsenal defender Cristhian Mosquera is also in this section, as are Sunderland’s Reinildo Mandava and Aston Villa’s Ian Maatsen.

Into the top 10 and Brentford’s Kristoffer Ajer is the first name to feature after registering an impressive top speed of 21.79 mph.

Ajer is the only defender to feature in this section, with all of the other players playing further forwards.

Chelsea’s Pedro Neto, Newcastle United duo Jacob Murphy and Matias Fernandez-Pardo, and Bournemouth’s Rayan are all separated by just 0.08 mph.

Finally, we come to the top five. Again, most of the players in this section play further up the pitch, though Coventry City’s Milan van Ewijk is in fifth place with a very impressive top speed of 21.90 mph.

Hull City’s Robinio Vaz is in fourth spot, while third place is occupied by Fulham’s Gonzalo Garcia, who left Real Madrid for Craven Cottage in the summer.

Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo is second with a top speed of 21.97 mph, but first place – and the only player to surpass the 22 mph-mark – goes to Liverpool’s £123 million summer signing Bradley Barcola.
