“ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!” — CHRIS SUTTON RAVES ABOUT CELTIC STAR AFTER ABERDEEN MASTERCLASS
CHRIS SUTTON LEFT STUNNED BY CELTIC STAR PLAYER PERFORMANCE AGAINST ABERDEEN — “THE BEST I’VE SEEN FROM A CELTIC PLAYER THIS SEASON”
Chris Sutton has been left hugely impressed by Celtic’s attacking display against Aberdeen, with Camilo Durán and Hyun-Jun Yang emerging as two of the standout performers in a dominant performance.
Celtic produced an emphatic showing, establishing a commanding 3–0 advantage, and the attacking quality on display immediately caught the attention of Sutton. While several Celtic players delivered impressive performances, Durán and Yang were particularly influential in the final third, combining energy, movement and clinical finishing to cause Aberdeen constant problems.
Durán made his presence felt early in the contest, showing the confidence and composure expected from a forward operating at the highest level. His contribution was not limited to simply finding the net. He repeatedly looked to stretch the Aberdeen defence, link with teammates and create openings whenever Celtic moved forward.
Sutton, was particularly enthusiastic about what he saw.
“That was an outstanding performance from Durán. The movement, the confidence and the way he attacked Aberdeen was exactly what Celtic supporters want to see. For me, that is one of the best individual attacking displays I’ve seen from a Celtic player this season.”
But it was not just Durán who attracted praise.
Hyun-Jun Yang also produced a performance that demonstrated his growing influence. The winger looked dangerous whenever he received possession, constantly attempting to drive at Aberdeen’s defence. His goal just before half-time provided the perfect reward for a lively first-half display and helped Celtic take complete control of the contest.
Yang’s willingness to run at defenders and make intelligent attacking movements gave Aberdeen very little breathing room. His performance also complemented Durán perfectly, with the pair providing Celtic with pace and unpredictability in attack.
Sutton continued, in the comments:
“Yang was magnificent. He looked hungry, direct and fearless. Aberdeen simply struggled to contain him. When you have players like Yang and Durán playing with that confidence, Celtic become a completely different proposition.”
The combination between the two attackers could prove particularly significant for Celtic going forward. Durán offered a focal point and finishing threat, while Yang provided width, pace and direct running. Together, they gave Aberdeen a difficult problem throughout the opening period.
Celtic’s three-goal advantage also reflected their overall dominance. The midfield supplied the attacking players with quality possession, while the defence remained composed enough to prevent Aberdeen from building sustained pressure.
For supporters, however, the biggest positive may have been the confidence shown by Celtic’s attacking players.
Durán and Yang demonstrated that Celtic possess players capable of changing matches through individual quality, movement and determination. If both can maintain this level consistently, their performances could become an important part of Celtic’s ambitions this season.
For now, Sutton’s verdict is clear: Celtic have produced one of their most exciting attacking displays of the campaign, with Durán and Yang stealing the spotlight.
