Nottingham Forest’s star man has been ruled out of Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup visit of Leeds United.
Nottingham Forest have been dealt a big blow for Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup visit of Leeds United with a star man ruled out after a suffering an injury blow.
Leeds and Forest will lock horns at the City Ground for the second time in four days through Tuesday’s second round contest, hot on the heels of Saturday’s first game of the Premier League season in which Leeds left with a 1-0 success.
Forest, though, it has emerged, also suffered a notable injury during the defeat, Morgan Gibbs-White suffering a knee injury in the contest and now ruled out of the quick return visit of Daniel Farke’s Whites.
The 26-year-old joins captain Ryan Yates and Nicola Savona on the sidelines, Yates and Savona having been out for Saturday’s league clash and not yet ready to return.
Providing his team news and as quoted by Nottingham Forest’s official website, Reds boss Oliver Glasner said: “It’s still (Ryan) Yates and (Nicolò) Savona who are out.
“Morgan Gibbs-White will miss tomorrow’s game. He got the ball and twisted his ankle, so the MCL was a little bit overstretched and he has some pain in his knee.
“There is no structural damage, but there’s no point in risking him”

“A lot of players look good and fresh and tomorrow is a cup competition. We want to have the same approach no matter the competition and try to win a trophy.
“We’ve had players come back late and have only had a few weeks for pre-season, so there’s no point risking them for a second competitive game in quick succession.
“We’ll have fresh minds and we’ll try to win the game.”
