Lisa Rodgers signs new deal with Celtic FC Women
Celtic FC
We are thrilled to announce that Lisa Rodgers has signed a new one-year contract which will see her remain at the club until 2027.
Lisa joined the Hoops from Hearts in January 2024, and has gone on to enjoy a successful spell between the sticks in the green and white Hoops.
The shot-stopper, who has made 33 appearances, including 25 last season, was part of the historic SWPL title-winning squad of 2024/25, before making UEFA Women’s Champions League debut against FC Twente the following campaign. In May she capped off her season by adding a Scottish Cup winners medal to her collection at Hampden.
Having represented Scotland at youth level 16 times, Lisa recently earned a call-up to the Women’s Under-23s, featuring in the squad that faced France and Denmark in April.
After signing her new deal, Lisa Rodgers said: “I’m obviously really excited. It feels like only yesterday I was here signing in January 2024 and I feel like I’ve matured a lot throughout that period of time.
‘I’m ready to see what more I have to give.’
“I think at a club like Celtic, you’re meant to win trophies. You’re here to win trophies and I think that’s what I want to do in my career.
“I want to win as much as possible, and I think I’ve already won two here and I want to keep going and be part of a team that keeps winning trophies.”Grant Scott added: “Lisa is a young goalkeeper who already has proven her worth at the club and at international level with Scotland underage.
‘She’s played her part in a number of high profile games and successes during her time here which will only aid that development.’
“We are delighted Lisa has decided to extend her stay at the club, we look forward to building a strong goalkeeping department ahead of next season.”
