Glasgow Rangers are heading for a disappointing climax to another trophyless season, yet it’s not all been doom and gloom at Ibrox, not least due to the form of loan sensation, Mikey Moore.

Those of a Gers persuasion will be waiting anxiously to see what the future holds for the 18-year-old winger, with a decision yet to be made on whether or not he will return to parent club Tottenham Hotspur for next season.

A driving force since Danny Rohl took charge, the teenager rightfully claimed the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award this week, having scored six times in the Premiership so far.

While it may only be a fleeting relationship, Moore’s stellar form has certainly cemented his place as Rangers’ best signing of the season, ensuring it is the type of deal Rohl will now be looking to replicate.

As per the report, midfield reinforcements are ‘high on the agenda’, with a fresh move for the 21-year-old potentially in the works, having failed to strike a deal in January.

Encouragingly, the young Dane is said to be open to making the move to Ibrox, albeit with it yet to be seen if the club will be willing to match his reported £9m price tag – as has been mooted elsewhere.

It’s hard to argue against Moore being the signing of the season in Glasgow, with the aforementioned Rommens seeing his early, impressive impact halted by injury in recent weeks.

There’s been a fearlessness to the Englishman’s game that has been so refreshing under Rohl’s watch, with Moore looking particularly mesmeric in the 2-2 draw with Celtic at Ibrox back in March.

He should well be the benchmark when it comes to future signings, with Andersen arguably another future star in the making who could well blossom in a Rangers shirt.

Still only 21, he’s already “one of the most interesting holding midfielders in Scandinavia”, according to talent scout Jacek Kulig, possessing so many strings to his bow in that number six berth.

Indeed, despite even operating at centre-back during his time at Hacken to date, he has still chalked up seven goals and three assists in 53 games, flourishing as a real pillar in the side for the Swedish outfit.

Formerly in the academy ranks at the likes of Inter Milan, FC Utrecht and FC Copenhagen, Andersen is such an intriguing profile of midfielder, boasting a perfect blend of silk and steel.

Last season, for instance, he averaged 4.9 tackles and interceptions per game in 26 Allsvenskan games, alongside making seven recoveries per game, a far superior record to what the likes of Nicolas Raskin has achieved in the Premiership this season, with the Belgian averaging 3.1 and 4.5 for those same two metrics, respectively.

As the Dane has shown in the early weeks of the Swedish season this time around too, there’s almost a balletic quality to his game, mirroring Moore with the way he can glide up the pitch with ease.

That can be seen in his stellar average of 2.6 successful dribbles per game in 2026, actually ahead of what Moore has achieved (1.5), albeit from far fewer games.

Not just an elite ball carrier, Andersen is also a creative outlet too, having matched Moore’s record of 1.2 key passes per game, another fine return considering his deep-lying starting position.

Now also a target for relegated Wolverhampton Wanderers, the 6 foot 4 starlet is likely to be at the centre of significant interest this summer, ensuring it bodes well that he is currently keen to join the project at Ibrox.

Moore’s status as a loan signing may be somewhat different, but bringing in young, hungry additions like the Spurs product should be the plan moving forward, with all the signs pointing to Andersen being another breakout talent under Rohl next season, if all goes to plan.
