Jared Curtis, the top 2026 quarterback prospect, is the target of a fierce, last-ditch competition between Georgia and Oregon.
Fortunately for Curtis, the Bulldogs have a bond with the coaching staff that he values greatly.

“My connection to the coaching. Above all, Coach Bobo and the quarterbacks coach, Montgomery VanGorder, are crucial. They have excellent coaches everywhere, and I believe they are a formidable force. According to Steve Wiltfong of On3, Curtis stated, “They have the players up there and they’re very disciplined.”
“I think they simply become better all year round, and I just appreciate how consistent they are there. Georgia is self-evident.
Indeed, Bobo plays a key role in Curtis’s hiring. However, Smartc also has a significant impact on the quarterback for Nashville.
“The coaching staff’s solidity, without a doubt. I know Coach Smart isn’t going anywhere. He’s locked in there, Coach Bobo. Curtis explained why Georgia would be the ideal fit for him by saying, “I think that their development will make me a better person all-around,” according to 247Sports.
The main reason Curtis is keeping his options open is because of Dan Lanning of Oregon. Curtis may have withdrawn his pledge to Georgia’s 2026 class for this reason as well.
The quarterback informed Wiltfong that he is “excited” for his official visit to Eugene despite having made several excursions.
“I really enjoy Oregon. “I am eager to make my (official) visit up there,” Curtis remarked.
Georgia may find the retreat and hesitancy to fully commit off-putting, while Oregon may see it as a positive sign. However, it doesn’t prove anything conclusively.
Curtis’s respect for Bobo may be a major factor in his choice.
