As Bronny James embarks on his NBA career, there’s a lot of uncertainty about his future, but one veteran reporter is certain about one aspect.
Zach Lowe of ESPN appeared on “The Bill Simmons Podcast” and made a strong prediction regarding the Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard. Lowe assured that Bronny will be on the NBA roster for the opening game and will play to create a special moment with his father, LeBron James.
“He is 100 percent playing in the opening game so they can have a moment together,” Lowe stated, according to ClutchPoints. “That’s going to happen, whether it’s passing the ball to each other or something else.”

The Lakers are set to open their season at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 22. This game will likely mark the historic occasion of LeBron, 39, and Bronny, 19, becoming the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA.
Beyond the opening night, however, Bronny, the No. 55 overall pick in this year’s draft, is not currently viewed as an NBA-ready prospect. After the season opener, he is expected to spend a significant portion of his rookie year developing his skills in the G League, especially with the Lakers recently hiring his anticipated new coach.
