One of the best performers for England on the day, and in recent international matches, was Gordon. He was lively throughout against the Czechs, getting his goal and causing all sorts of trouble down the left side of the attack.

He now has three in three for the Three Lions. Per SofaScore, the Barcelona ace was the best player on the pitch with an 8.7 rating. He finished the game with four key passes, with 94% accuracy of all his passes, finding the back of the net with one of his two shots on target.

The player seemed delighted with his effort after the game, joking with ITV: “I think it’s my only header [scored], before adding: “Really happy, really proud to score that. Can’t tell you how many hours I’ve worked on heading in training.”

He also praised Alexander-Arnold for the assist, saying: “That’s why he’s so good, and I’ve been dying to play with him for that reason.”
