The latest Leeds United transfer news throughout the day including updates on Mykhailo Mudryk and Willy Gnonto

Leeds United could be set for a busy couple of days as the summer transfer window comes to a close.

Daniel Farke’s side marked their first home game of the season with a 1-1 draw against Brentford on Sunday. Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s second-half finish earned the Whites a good Premier League point to keep them unbeaten from three in all competitions.

After full-time on Sunday, Farke reiterated his ‘cautiously optimistic’ stance that Leeds will have a strong end to the window but time is quickly running out. Leeds are known to want attacking reinforcements while left-back cover would also be welcomed.

Elland Road chiefs made an initial move to take Mykhailo Mudryk on loan last week and despite Chelsea rejecting their offer, a deal remains possible. The Ukrainian’s preference is to remain in the Premier League while Chelsea want him to go to Strasbourg.

Mudryk is expected to leave Chelsea before Tuesday’s 11pm deadline and Leeds’ pursuit remains alive, even amid reports last week Stamford Bridge chiefs no longer considered it a viable option. That one could go right to the wire.

Equally, there will be late uncertainty surrounding Willy Gnonto who was an unused substitute on Sunday following his return from a hamstring injury. The Italian has been the subject of interest from Fiorentina, although it’s difficult to see Leeds sanctioning his exit without a replacement.

Leeds could also do with more depth at striker, with Joel Piroe’s season-long loan to West Ham leaving them one man light in that position. It remains to be seen if competition for Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha will be secured.

Elland Road chiefs might also be forced into a late move for defensive reinforcements after Joe Rodon was forced off with a hamstring injury on Sunday. Farke admitted it would be a ‘bog blow’ were the Welshman to be out for a period, and it would leave him with only three fit senior centre-backs.
