Gary Neville has revealed his theory about Oliver Glasner’s contract at Nottingham Forest after the Austrian was confirmed as Vitor Pereira’s replacement.
Glasner is understood to have signed a three-year deal at the City Ground and becomes the fifth manager in less than a year following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou, Sean Dyche and Pereira.
The appointment of the former Crystal Palace manager was met with sarcasm from Roy Keane in a recent episode of The Overlap podcast, joking the news was “fake news”.

In the same episode, Ian Wright and Neville gave their thoughts on the move for Glasner. Wright said: “He’s leaving [Palace] because obviously he didn’t want to sell [Marc] Guehi and [Eberechi] Eze, he wants to keep the players and then he’s gone to Forest?! The chaotic Forest?
“I can only believe that he’s left Palace to go to Forest and I think it’s probably more money.” Keane interjected and asked if there was anything wrong with that, to which the ex-Eagles striker replied: “There’s nothing wrong with it.
“The thing is, what I’m saying about it is that he wants to leave because they’re not giving him the opportunity to do this and that, is he going to get that at Forest?”
Neville then added: “Nuno was doing a good job at Forest but his football was deemed to be quite more defensive-minded. He [owner Evangelos Marinakis] brought Ange in and then he got rid of Ange quite quickly and then he got Sean Dyche then Vitor Pereira.
“He’s now gone to Glasner, he’s a good manager. He must have got some hell of a severance clause in his contract to go there. Because Oliver Glasner’s star right now is pretty high.
“For Forest it’s a great get but he must have one hell of a clause in there that says, ‘if you sack me, you’re going to have to pay me a fortune’.”
