Since Nike took over NBA jersey designs in 2017-18, concerns about quality and creativity have been raised, with many of the new designs suffering from excessive minimalism.
If the leaked jersey is accurate, the Celtics’ latest City edition is another example of Nike’s creative missteps. The alleged design resembles a plain muscle shirt with minimal decoration. Should the leak prove legitimate, the backlash may prompt Nike to reconsider and redesign the jersey.

SEPT. 17 BEST BACKUP POINT GUARD?
September marks the quietest part of the NBA offseason, and content creators often have to dig for engaging material. ClutchPoints recently posted a graphic featuring T.J. McConnell as the “best backup point guard in NBA history.” Interestingly, the image shows McConnell during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers, not his current stint with the Indiana Pacers. He is featured alongside other notable backup point guards, including Dallas Mavericks’ champion J.J. Barea, San Antonio Spurs’ Patty Mills, Goran Dragic from his Houston Rockets days, and Shaun Livingston of the Golden State Warriors.
McConnell averaged six points per game over 314 appearances with the 76ers, just one game more than his time with the Pacers. This post raises suspicions that ClutchPoints may be trying to stir up engagement rather than making a serious argument.
