The Connecticut Sun won against the Indiana Fever in the first game of their WNBA playoff series. Indiana struggled offensively, particularly All-Star rookie Caitlin Clark.
Clark ended the game with only 11 points, making 4-of-17 shots from the field and 2-of-13 from three-point range. While some attributed this to an off night, many fans believed her shooting difficulties were linked to an incident in the first quarter.
Clark was poked in the eye by Connecticut guard Dijonai Carrington, causing her to remain on the ground for several seconds before she ended up with a black eye.

This video, which implies that the poke might have been intentional, has garnered 1.2 million views on X. Several similar posts have also been gaining traction on social media.
When asked during Tuesday’s media availability about opinions that Carrington hit her intentionally and should be suspended, Clark expressed her thoughts directly.
“It wasn’t intentional at all,” Clark stated. “If you watch the play, you can see it wasn’t intentional.”
