Anthony Edwards Discusses His Mood After the KAT Trade
At Minnesota’s media day, Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards shared his thoughts on Karl-Anthony Towns’ trade, expressing how much it impacted him.
“Everybody knows KAT is my brother, so it definitely hurt,” Edwards said. “But it’s a business, so I just gotta roll with it.”
Despite the emotional toll, Edwards is eager to integrate new teammates Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and Keita Bates-Diop. “I’m ready to get to know them,” he said, adding, “We need to figure it out quickly because we’re trying to get back to where we were and go even further.”

As the longest-tenured player on the team besides Naz Reid, Edwards is adjusting to the leadership role but isn’t quite ready to fully discuss life without Towns.
“I don’t know, man. It’s weird to talk about it because he just got traded,” Edwards explained. “That’s my dawg. It wasn’t like a one or two situation. We both were the one and played off each other. I’m happy to be whatever the guy they want me to be, but it’s hard to talk about right now.”
Rudy Gobert was also asked about the impact of the Towns trade on his role. “KAT is a one-of-a-kind player,” Gobert said. “But I don’t think my role will change much from last year.” He added that Naz Reid will need to step up in Towns’ absence.
