Player Ratings from Sunderland’s 0-0 draw with Leed

SUNDERLAND (4-2-3-1):
6 Roefs: Made a couple of fairly-routine saves, but had a shaky late moment when he failed to claim the ball
7 Hume: Didn’t give anything away down Sunderland’s right-hand side – full-back is undoubtedly his best position
7 Mukiele: Had looked comfortable before he was caught in the neck by O’Nien’s flailing arm at start of second half and forced off
8 O’NIEN: Did excellently against Calvert-Lewin, and once again stepped up when Sunderland needed him
7 Reinildo: Helped make Sunderland much more resolute and organised as he returned at left-back
6 Xhaka: Covered a lot of ground and pressed aggressively, but wasn’t really a factor on the ball
6 Sadiki: Most of his best work was defensive – made a great late clearance at the back post
5 Rigg: Helped solidify the Sunderland midfield, but wasn’t really a factor in Leeds’ half
6 Le Fee: Tried to get on the ball in the final third, but was closed down pretty effectively by the Leeds defence
8 Angulo: Was Sunderland’s brightest attacker for most of the game, firing in a couple of good shots that were saved
6 Brobbey: Started brightly, firing in a shot that Trafford saved with his foot, but was clearly tiring by the time he was replaced
7 Alderete (for Mukiele, 52): Much improved from last week as he helped Sunderland claim their clean sheet
5 Tutierov (for Brobbey, 65): Didn’t get a chance to make a late impact after coming on

Talbi (for Angulo, 79)
Diarra (for Le Fee, 79)

Man Of The Match: LUKE O’NIEN – The tougher things get, the more the centre-half is willing to step up and be counted.
