Palace fans’ early taunts BACKFIRE hilariously — as brutal new Brighton chant turns the away end to total silence

Brighton fans had the last laugh after being taunted about their club’s lack of major silverware by followers of bitter rivals Crystal Palace on a remarkable afternoon at the Amex Stadium.
Palace supporters packed out the away end waving inflatable Conference League trophies to celebrate their European glory last term, having also lifted the FA Cup in 2025.
The travelling fans sang ‘Champions of Europe’ in the early stages after mocking the Seagulls’ pre-match anthem, ‘Sussex by the Sea’, by mimicking a brass band conductor.
However, the goading swiftly turned to stunned silence as Albion blitzed their fiercest foes with three goals inside 10 minutes en route to a thumping 5-0 win which piles pressure on Palace boss Pierre Sage.
Diego Gomez’s stunning effort from the halfway line was the pick of the goals, with Yasin Ayari, Charalampos Kostoulas and Jack Hinshelwood also on target after Jaydee Canvot’s early own goal.
Eagles fans were left deflated at the final whistle, with many having already beaten a humiliating retreat to south London.
Those who did remain endured chants of “Who put the ball in the Palace net? Half the f****** team did!” from jubilant Brighton supporters celebrating their team’s joint biggest win in this fixture.
